HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) -- Astros outfielder Michael Brantley was removed from Sunday's game against the Minnesota Twins after a collision at second base.
The team announced Brantley was being pulled as a precaution after being hit in the head.
Brantley was caught between first and second base when Aledmys Díaz hit a blooper behind first. Brantley hesitated, then sprinted toward second base as the ball fell into play.
There was an awkward collision with Minnesota shortstop Andrelton Simmons, who tried to make sure Brantley was OK before training staff and Astros manager Dusty Baker checked on him.
Brantley, who had worked a five-pitch walk as the designated hitter, remained in the game until the inning ended. He did not return after that, with rookie Jake Meyers pinch-hitting.
