Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb set multiple franchise records during the team's 20-19 win over the Detroit Lions on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium.

Lamb needed three catches and 180 yards on Saturday to break the franchise records for receptions and yards receiving in a single season held by Hall of Famer Michael Irvin, who set both in 1995. Unfortunately for Lamb, his third catch resulted in a negative play for Dallas.

After tying the reception record on a 92-yard touchdown, which was the longest of his career, Lamb nearly scored another touchdown on his next reception but he fumbled the ball into the Lions' end zone, resulting in a touchback.

The NFL record for receptions in a single season is held by New Orleans Saints receiver Michael Thomas, who had 149 catches during the 2019 season.

Coming into Saturday's game, Lamb had a narrow lead over Los Angeles Chargers receiver Kennan Allen for the NFL lead in receptions this season, 109-108. Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill and Lions wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown aren't far behind with 106 catches.

Lamb went on to break another one of Irvin's receiving records in the 4th quarter. The 24-year-old entered the game with 1,424 yards receiving, 179 behind Irvin's record-setting 1,603 yards.

Lamb finished the game with a whopping 13 catches for 227 yards, marking his first 200 yard-plus receiving game of his career. Lamb is now narrowly leading the NFL in receiving yards as he passed Hill, who had 1,641 yards coming into this week.
