The Cowboys are concerned that linebacker DeMarvion Overshown suffered a significant injury in Saturday night's preseason game in Seattle.
According to Michael Gehlken of the Dallas Morning News, the team fears that Overshown "may have torn his left ACL," but an MRI is needed to determine the severity of the injury.
Overshown was immediately ruled out for the rest of the game after he injured his left knee while tackling Seahawks rookie running back Zach Charbonnet, Nick Eatman of DallasCowboys.com reported.
"Cowboys officials are saying it's a knee injury and he's out for the rest of the game. They also reiterated that it is preseason, so it's not going to take much for anybody to be out of the game. But for precautionary [reasons], they are taking him there for further testing," Eatman said on the TV broadcast on CBS 11.
After the play, Overshown grabbed his left knee and was tended to by the Cowboys' training staff on the field before walking off under his own power to the sideline and into the blue medical tent.
Overshown then walked over to a cart and was taken off the field and into the locker room for further evaluation.
Overshown, a third-round pick in April's draft, shined in the team's preseason opener, and is expected to be apart of the team's linebacker rotation this season.
This is a developing news story.
