When it rains it pours. And I'm not talking about the torrential downpour that led to almost an hour-and-a-half delayed kickoff between the Cowboys and Steelers on Sunday night at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
The Cowboys lost rookie defensive end Marshawn Kneeland to a knee injury on the Steelers' first offensive series of the game when Kneeland attempted to tackle Pittsburgh quarterback Justin Fields.
Kneeland wasn't able to put any weight on his right leg and needed assistance from the Cowboys training staff to get off the field. Kneeland was eventually carted to the locker room after being examined in the blue medical tent. He was initially deemed questionable to return before being ruled out for the rest of the night in the second quarter.
Dallas entered the game without its top three pass rushers as Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, who suffered injuries in last week's win over the New York Giants, and Sam Williams, who suffered a season-ending knee injury in training camp, were all unavailable.
Carl Lawson, Tyrus Wheat and Chauncey Golston are the only other defensive ends available to the Cowboys for the rest of the game.
