DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Cowboys and the NFL Foundation have partnered to donate $400,000 to help support the families and victims of the tragedy that occurred last week in Uvalde.
“Our hearts are broken for the families affected by the senseless tragedy that occurred in Uvalde, Texas on May 24th, 2022,” Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President Charlotte Jones said. “There are simply no words to describe the pain and sorrow that we feel for the Uvalde community. We hold them tight in our thoughts and continued prayers.”
$200,000 of the funds will be donated to the Robb School Memorial Fund and the other $200,000 will be sent to the Uvalde Strong Fund.
"The $400,000 will directly support the families of the victims, survivors and the Uvalde community as they seek to recover from this senseless tragedy," the Cowboys' statement read.
Additionally, the Houston Texans and the NFL Foundation have also partnered to donate $400,000 to the Robb School Memorial Fund, bringing the combined total donation between both Texas-based teams and the NFL to $800,000.
19 elementary school students and two teachers were gunned down at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, just over 84 miles west of San Antonio.
