On Thursday, the Mavs may have just gotten closer to getting one of their top targets, in Raptors guard and Luka Doncic mentor, Goran Dragic.

Per reports, Dragic, who was traded to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Thad Young, is expected to be bought out of his contract by San Antonio.

And upon completion of that buyout, the Dallas Mavericks will reportedly be the favorites to land the 16-year pro.

Dragic, of course, has a well established history with Mavs superstar Luka Doncic, and has expressed interest in playing in Dallas alongside his countryman on multiple occasions.

Dragic has seen the floor for just five games this year for Toronto, and is averaging 13.9 points and 4.8 assists for his career.
