Rangers legendary broadcaster Eric Nadel is back.
The Rangers Hall of Famer will return to 105.3 The Fan's broadcast booth for tonight's game against the Miami Marlins after he missed the club's first 109 games of the season to focus on his mental health.
In a statement released Friday, Nadel expressed his excitement about returning to the booth and his appreciation for his broadcast partners stepping in during his absence.
"I am delighted to be back on the air tonight and am eternally grateful to the Rangers’ ownership and management for their patience, understanding and generosity. A huge thank you to my broadcast partners for making it possible for me to take the time I needed. And my heart goes out to all the Rangers fans for their love, support, and prayers," Nadel said.
This season is Nadel's 45th with the club and his 29th year as the lead voice on the Rangers radio broadcasts.
Nadel was the 2014 recipient of the Ford C. Fick Award, an award given annually for excellence in broadcasting by the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum.
Matt Hicks, who joined the club in 2012 as Nadel's counterpart in the booth, and Rangers pre and postgame show host Jared Sandler were handling broadcasting duties in Nadel's absence. Sandler will resume his pre and postgame show duties beginning Friday.
