After years of waiting, Jimmy Johnson has taken his 'rightful place' amongst the greatest Cowboys of all time.

Johnson was inducted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor at halftime of Dallas' 20-19 win over the Detroit Lions on Saturday night at AT&T Stadium.

Johnson, who brought two Super Bowls to the Cowboys in 1993 and 1994, finished his Dallas Cowboys career with a 44-36 record. But over the final three seasons of his Dallas tenure, Johnson went 36-12, capturing two NFC East titles, and winning seven playoff games, including the two Super Bowls.

But after winning Super Bowl XXVII, Johnson and Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones had a falling out, leading to his departure from the organization.

Jones and Johnson sat before the media prior to the game and Jones spoke about why enshrining Johnson into the Ring of Honor after all of these years is the "right" thing to do.

"You are going to hear the word right," Jones said. "And when we finally make the word that says he's [Jimmy] is in the Ring of Honor, the rightful place for him that says it all from my perspective."

At halftime, Johnson was joined by his family and several members of the Cowboys Ring of Honor including Roger Staubach, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Darren Woodson, Randy White, Bob Lilly, Tony Dorsett, DeMarcus Ware, Mel Renfro and Drew Pearson.

"Many people have asked what this means to me," Johnson said during the induction ceremony. "I'm so very, very proud. I'm proud of what we accomplished and when I say we, a lot of people. But more than anything else, thank you, Jerry Jones for bringing me to the Dallas Cowboys."

Johnson closed his speech by yelling out his patented catch phrase, "how 'bout them Cowboys!"
