AUBURN, Ala. (Texas A&M Athletics) -- No. 15 Texas A&M erased a 21-point deficit and took its first lead of the game late in the fourth quarter, but the Aggies eventually dropped a heartbreaker 43-41 to Auburn late Saturday in four overtimes at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

The game was the longest for A&M (8-3, 5-2 SEC) since its 2018 seven-overtime win over LSU at Kyle Field.

Quarterback Marcel Reed threw for a season-high 297 yards on 22-of-35 passing to go along with a career-best three touchdowns. The redshirt freshman also added 21 carries for 66 yards. Amari Daniels led the rushing attack for the Aggies (8-3, 5-2) with 90 yards on 27 carries and one score.

Among the receivers, Noah Thomas hauled in five catches for a career-high 124 yards and two touchdowns. The multi-touchdown game marked the second of the junior's career. Jahdae Walker pulled in a season-best seven catches for 69 yards and one touchdown.

Taurean York led the way defensively for the Maroon & White with 10 tackles, six of which were solos, followed by Scooby Williams with seven. Williams also added 1.5 tackles for loss and a pass breakup. Cashius Howell wreaked havoc in the backfield on the night as the junior compiled five tackles, four of which were solos, 2.0 tackles for loss and 1.0 sack.

The Aggies will now regroup for next Saturday's regular season home finale against the Texas Longhorns, with a kick set for 6:30 p.m. at Kyle Field. With Saturday's other losses around the SEC, whoever wins between the Aggies and the Longhorns will face Georgia for the conference championship a week later.
