DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Rangers are bringing back a familiar face, signing free agent pitcher Martin Perez to a one-year, $4 million deal, pending a physical, according to Audacy Sports baseball insider Jon Heyman.
Perez spent the first seven seasons of his career in a Rangers uniform, before moving on to the Twins in 2019, and then the Red Sox for the past two seasons.
Perez, 30, went 7-8 with a 4.74 ERA in 36 appearances (22 starts) with Boston last season. For his career, he's 63-69 with a 4.71 ERA 221 appearances (191 starts).
The left-hander should slot into the back end of the club's rotation this season.
