(SportsRadio 610) -- Former Minnesota Vikings cornerback Mark Fields II is the newest member of the Texans' secondary after being claimed off waivers Thursday, according to multiple media reports.
Fields spent the last six weeks on IR with a chest injury before he was activated Tuesday, but the Vikings then waived him Wednesday. Fields has played in just two games and recorded one solo tackle this season.
He adds depth for the Texans' defensive backs. They played without cornerbacks Phillip Gaines and John Reid in last Sunday's blowout loss against the Chicago Bears.
Bradley Roby is suspended for the rest of the season, and Gareon Conley was never able to make it on the field after multiple ankle surgeries in the offseason and during the season.
