(SportsRadio 610) -- Texans safety Justin Reid suffered a season-ending injury to his hand in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears.
Reid left the game for a short time in the first half to get his hand looked at, then returned from the locker room to finish the game.
On Monday, the Houston Chronicle and NFL Network reported Reid will miss the rest of the season with a torn ligament in his hand. Reid is expected to be placed on the injured reserve, the Chronicle reported.
Last season, Reid played much of the season with a torn labrum
This is a major blow to an already depleted secondary, which played Sunday without three of their cornerbacks: Bradley Roby (suspended), Phillip Gaines (knee, shoulder) and John Reid (neck).
With Reid out at safety, it means they will need more from Lonnie Johnson Jr., A.J. Moore, Eric Murray and Jonathan Owens.
