Rockets' Eric Gordon to miss 4-6 weeks with moderate groin strain: report

Rockets guard Eric Gordon is expected to miss the next four to six weeks of action with a moderate groin strain, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Gordon, who had been the subject of trade rumors with the March 25 deadline looming, injured the groin in Thursday night's loss to the Sacramento Kings. It was the Rockets' first action since the All-Star break and they extended the losing streak to 14 games.

The Rockets could certainly have used Gordon for Friday night's matchup against the league-leading Utah Jazz. Gordon had 17 points against the Kings before his injury and is averaged 31 points in two games played against the Jazz last season.

Gordon is averaging 17.8 points per game for Houston this season.

There is a belief around the league Houston would be up for a fire sale, given how the season is going and the apparent need to rebuild the team. Gordon, along with veterans like P.J. Tucker, Victor Oladipo and Ben McLemore are among the popular trade targets.

It is unclear how the injury could impact a team's interest in Gordon, who has another three years and more than $58 million left on his contract.
