(SportsRadio 610) -- The Rockets are adding a familiar face to the front office by hiring former player and broadcaster Matt Bullard, the Houston Chronicle reported Tuesday.

Bullard's exact role is unclear, but he joins longtime NBA executive Chris Wallace as the latest additions to the Rockets' basketball operations department, led by general manager Rafael Stone.

Wallace, a former general manager for the Grizzlies and Celtics, is the Rockets' new director of scouting, according to ESPN's Tim MacMahon.

The moves come as the Rockets get ready for the NBA Draft later this month. They currently have the No. 2 overall pick in the draft.

Bullard spent the past 16 seasons as a broadcaster for Rockets games, but learned last month that AT&T SportsNet would not be renewing his contract. He joins fellow former NBA players Ed Pinckney and Chuck Hayes as members of the Rockets' front office.

Wallace spent 12 seasons as the Grizzlies general manager after succeeding Jerry West in Memphis. He also spent 10 seasons the Celtics' GM after working as director of player personnel with the Heat.

Wallace started his career in scouting departments for the Trail Blazers, Nuggets, Clippers and Knicks.

The Chronicle reports Wallace has been an advisor to the Grizzlies the past two seasons.
