Though Nick Saban didn't exactly confirm previous reports that said Bill O'Brien would become the new offensive coordinator of the Alabama Crimson Tide, his comments when talking to the media on Wednesday did pretty much everything else.

Saban told SportsRadio610 that he saw a lot of good things in O'Brien's as a head coach for the NFL's Houston Texans, and that he'd do the same with Alabama's program.

The last line there really seems to show what direction the organization is heading in, adding a lot of fuel to the fire started by reports like one from Bruce Feldman.

O'Brien is no stranger to the college game — he became the head coach for Penn State in 2012 and was subsequently named the Big Ten Coach of the Year, among other accolades — and his most recent stint with the NFL's Houston Texans, though not without flaws, yielded some successful results. He went 52-48 in six years and four games, posting a winning record in five of six full seasons before an 0-4 start led to his dismissal in 2020.

It's still not set in stone, but all things point to O'Brien's reintroduction to the NCAA level coming with Alabama. As for Saban himself, his future is not entirely set in stone, either. CBS Sports CFB analyst Brian Jones heard that the 14-year Crimson Tide fixture could hang 'em up following yet another championship win.
