As John Ourand from the Sports Business Journal tweeted on Monday, signs are pointing to a season-opening game this September in Los Angeles between the Bills and Broncos. This is unless Aaron Rodgers moves on from the Green Bay Packers to join the Denver Broncos this offseason.

"A team that is expected to compete for the AFC Championship, the Bills have a star quarterback in Josh Allen and an exciting offense. Expect this to be the selection if Rodgers does not move to the Mile High City," Ourand wrote of the possibility.

Among the other teams in Ourand's article, he brings up the Dallas Cowboys, San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders as possibilities to play the Rams in Week 1 of next season.

The idea of a Bills-Rams season opener on "Thursday Night Football" to kick off the 2022 campaign would be an attractive idea for not only football fans across the country, but also the National Football League itself.

Buffalo is coming off an impressive pair of playoff games that saw the Bills throttle the New England Patriots in the Wild Card Round, but then come up just short in the Divisional Round in an instant overtime classic against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Meanwhile, the Rams and Matthew Stafford were just recently crowned the kings of football after defeating the Cincinnati Bengals in Super Bowl LVI on home field, 23-20.

The 2022 schedule is not expected to be released until some time in May. In the meantime, speculations will continue to swirl about the possibilities of a perfect season opener in the NFL.
