The Diamondbacks struck back in Game 2, bludgeoning the Rangers 9-1 on Saturday night at Globe Life Field to even up the best-of-seven-game series.

Here are three takeaways from the game:

Rangers' offense struggles

The powerful Rangers' offense mustered just four hits on the night, their lowest output in a game this postseason.

Designated hitter Mitch Garver accounted for the only run of the game, hitting a solo shot off of Diamondbacks' starter Merrill Kelly in the fifth.

Marcus Semien's struggles continued, as he went 1-4 with two strikeouts. His lone hit came in the 9th inning when the game was out of reach. Semien is hitting .194 this postseason, a far cry from his .276 regular season average.

The top four Rangers' hitters, Semien, Corey Seager, Evan Carter and Adolis Garcia went a combined 1-14, with the rookie Carter accounting for the only hit from the group.

Leody Taveras, who went 0-3 tonight, has just three hits in his last 26 at-bats, and Nathaniel Lowe, who also went hitless in three at-bats on Saturday, has just four hits in his last 22 at-bats.

Kelly pitches gem

Speaking of Kelly, the right-hander was dominant, allowing just three hits and one run in seven innings. He struck out nine and didn't walk a single batter. Kelly is now 3-1 with a 2.25 ERA in four postseason starts.

D-backs' offense singles Rangers' pitching staff to death

The D-backs put on a hitting display in this one, ripping the Rangers' pitching staff for 16 hits. The 16 hits marked the most by a team in a game this postseason.

The D-backs small-balled their way to victory, as 14 of their hits were singles. They also laid down three sacrifice bunts to advance runners to second base. Two of those runners came around to score.

Game 3 is set for Monday night in Arizona.
