(SportsRadio 610) - Texans safety Terrence Brooks was designated to return from injured reserve Monday after a lung contusion sidelined him for about a month.
Brooks sustained the injury last month when the Texans traveled to the Indianapolis Colts. He started that game in place of Lonnie Johnson Jr., but was injured in the first quarter.
The injury was bad enough for Brooks to be held at an Indianapolis hospital overnight, head coach David Culley said the following day.
With Brooks back in the mix, the Texans could play him with some combination of Johnson and Eric Murray alongside Justin Reid.
Johnson was limited to just special teams snaps in the Texans' most recent game, a 17-9 loss to the Miami Dolphins. Reid and Murray played 96 percent of the defensive snaps. Safeties Jonathan Owens and A.J. Moore played three defensive snaps.
