HOUSTON (SportsRadio 610) - The Texans have placed starting right offensive tackle Tytus Howard on season-ending injured reserve due to a concussion, the team announced Wednesday.

Howard suffered the concussion in last week's loss to the Colts. He wasn't permitted to return on the team flight after the game and remained in Indianapolis for precautionary reasons. He was able to return to Houston on Monday.

The Texans also announced that they have signed rookie defensive tackle Auzoyah Alufohai to the active roster and activated cornerback Mark Fields II from the exempt-commissioner permission list.
