AUSTIN (Talk1370.com) -- The Westlake Chaparrals continued their march through District 26-6A Thursday night at downtown Austin's House Park, with quarterback Rees Wise leading the Chaps to a 49-7 victory over Austin High.

Wise passed for 258 yards with three touchdowns in the game's first half, including two short tosses to Brody Wilhelm and a 30-yard pass to Cal Livengood. On the ground, Grady Bartlett rushed for two touchdowns, including a 49-yarder on the first play of the second half.

"We left some points out there in the second half," head coach Tony Salazar said postgame. "We need to clean those up. I feel like we're getting better and we're trending in the right direction."

Westlake's defense also shined, limiting Austin High to just 104 yards of total offense. The Maroons were without either of their top quarterbacks for the evening, and struggled to generate momentum, with only 9 yards passing.

With the win, Westlake improves to 5-1 overall and 2-0 in district play. The Chaps are heading into the heart of their 26-6A schedule, hosting Bowie next week before heading to Lake Travis for the annual Battle of the Lakes matchup.
