(SportsRadio 610) - It did not take long for Yordan Alvarez to get back in the groove from being on the injured list over the weekend.
The Astros' home run leader from last year hit a two-run blast off Angels pitcher Michael Lorenzen to put Houston on the board 2-0 in the first inning.
Lorenzen threw a 3-1 slider low and inside, which Alvarez sent 417 feet to the right field upper deck.
Angels outfielder Taylor Ward didn't even bother trying to run it down.
The Angels tied the game in the top of the second inning with a two-run double by second baseman Tyler Wade.
But for Alvarez, the home run snapped his 0-for-8 streak. He was hitting just 2-for-14 (.143), which included an Opening Day homer against the Angels.
Alvarez apparently wasn't done.
He's up to three hits on the night, including two homers.
