After a night of civil unrest and looting, downtown Minneapolis begins to pick up the pieces and clean-up.

Gene Martin works at Walgreens on Nicollet Mall. He tells WCCO it's deja vu all over again. "I just don't understand how people can do this. What has this got to do with George Floyd? I mean, people work here. People rely on us for their medications."

WCCO's Mark Freie reports that Target employees told him they planned to still open Thursday at noon, saying the damage there was minimal.

The unrest started after a police murder suspect, who allegedly committed a homicide in a parking ramp, shot himself at Nicollet Mall and 8th Street. Initially thinking the suspect was shot by police, a crowd gathered and it spiraled out of control throughout the evening.
