Family and friends are gathered in Houston for George Floyd’s funeral to say their final goodbyes.
The private funeral began midday Tuesday at The Fountain of Praise Church, a day after Floyd’s visitation. Floyd’s golden casket was carried into the church by six men.
Five hundred people were allowed into the sanctuary. Those people will hear a eulogy by the Rev. Al Sharpton and remarks by Former Vice President, Joe Biden, Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, Congressman Al Green of Texas, and Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas.
Family members of other Black men and women killed by police, including Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and Breonna Taylor, are also at the funeral.
Services began on Monday afternoon where mourners gathered for a public viewing.

Derek Chauvin, the cop who pinned Floyd down with his knee, has been fired. Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison increased the charges against him from third to second-degree murder. Additionally, aiding and abetting murder charges were filed against former officers on the scene, Thomas Lane, J. Alexander Kueng, and Tou Thao.
