On Monday evening, police departments began to report a nationwide 911 outage, making it difficult for people to direct their emergencies to the line.
Around 6:30 pm, several Minnesota police departments reported that the lines were down and urged local residents to contact departments via local numbers to report their emergencies, Fox News reports.
Some are urging residents to use their local fire departments as well.
"911 lines are out nationwide. In Minnetonka and Hennepin county, you will need to call 952-258-5321," a tweet from the Minnetonka Police Department reads.
