KANSAS CITY - One person is dead following an accident near Mulvane.
It happened just before 4:00 p.m. Tuesday afternoon when a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle near 103rd south and Hydraulic, between Haysville and Mulvane.
First responders found a Mulvane man in his late 40's unresponsive in the ditch. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police say the man drove to the area to shut off power to an irrigation pivot. He slipped and fell on the wet pavement as he was returning to his vehicle, and was struck by a car that didn’t see him.
The driver, a man, 55, from Wellington, was taken to an area hospital with minor injuries.
The crash is under investigation.
