KANSAS CITY - Police in Louisiana have arrested a suspect in connection with the death of a Kansas City sports reporter in New Orleans providing Super Bowl coverage.
Spanish language network Telemundo KC announced the death of 27-year-old reporter Adan Manzano on assignment in New Orleans on Thursday.
Now, a woman has been charged over Manzano's death. Authorities in Kenner, Louisiana, just outside New Orleans, say they arrested Danette Colbert after she was caught using Manzano's credit card at several stores around New Orleans.
Colbert was seen on security footage with Manzano Wednesday morning. She was also seen leaving his hotel room.
According to Louisiana police, Colbert has a history of drugging men and stealing cash and other items. As of now, she has been booked on property crimes, including fraud and theft.
The investigation into the manner of Manzano's death is ongoing.
