KANSAS CITY – Boeing plans to permanently cut nearly 700 jobs across the state of Missouri.

In a notification sent to the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development, Boeing said that there will be about 692 employees laid off at their Missouri locations beginning on January 17, 2025.

Most of the layoffs will be in the St. Louis area. The cuts cover dozens of different positions, from design and engineering to supply chain and logistics.

Meantime, in a notice filed Monday with the Employment Security Department in its home state of Washington, Boeing said it plans to lay off about 17,000 workers before Christmas.
