KANSAS CITY - The Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City, Kansas, is close to final approval of a giant Buc-ee's gas station and store near The Legends.
The UG's development and finance committee has now recommended approval of a development agreement. The company wants $13.3 million in tax incentives to help pay for the $95 million project.
The location would include 120 gas pumps and a 74,000 square-foot store. The Buc-ee's would employ about 200 full-time workers.
Construction could begin as soon as next May and once in operation, the Buc-ee's is expected to draw around 4-million visitors per year.
