KANSAS CITY - A driver escaped injury Saturday afternoon after losing control of their vehicle and rolling into the Little Arkansas River.
The incident happened about 3:10 p.m. near Back Bay Boulevard and 9th Street, that's near Riverside Park.
Police said tire tracks were visible on the river bank and a red Chevy Malibu was nearly submerged. The vehicle was empty when police arrived but the driver later returned to the scene.
Crews blocked off the area as they removed the car from the water.
