KANSAS CITY - An investigation is underway into the death of a 3-year old non verbal boy with autism, who died at a Park Hills, Missouri, daycare, called Poppy's House.

The child was found unresponsive by his mother when she went to pick him up Friday. Reports indicate the toddler's body was already cold and stiff, suggesting he had been dead for several hours.

The City of Park Hills posted on facebook that since the daycare is owned by a member of the Park Hills City Council, they asked the St. Francois County Sheriff to handle the case.

KMOX has called Sheriff Jeffrey Crites and wanted to interview him, we were sent the following statement from him.
