KANSAS CITY – While you’re enjoying your Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, plumbers will be busy preparing for the day after.
There’s a reason why the day after Thanksgiving is known as Brown Friday. It’s typically the busiest day of the year for plumbers, as they work to unclog your pipes.
Steve Connelly of Connelly Plumbing Solutions says there are a number of reasons why. One is that with family and friends over, your bathroom facilities are getting much more use than normal.
Another reason is that people end up sending much more down their garbage disposals. That includes foods from cleaning out the fridge before the gathering and then the scraps from cooking the Thanksgiving meal and that food on the plates that people couldn’t finish.
Connelly says these garbage dispoals systems are only designed for so much, so go slow and steady, and scrape scraps into the trash.
