KANSAS CITY – The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is kicking off the new year with a healthy change, banning the smoking of cigarettes and vaping on the grounds.
Zoo officials say they’re making the change to provide a safer and healthier environment for guests, employees, and animals.
Both cigarettes and vaping are prohibited on Zoo grounds and previous designated smoking areas have been eliminated.
For those who wish to smoke during their visit, guests are always welcome to leave the Zoo and return that same day but must get stamped at the entry gate on their way out. All smoking must be done off of Zoo grounds.
