Police search for driver who hit and killed a pedestrian in Kansas City

KANSAS CITY – Police in Kansas City are looking for the driver who hit and killed a pedestrian on Monday night.

Authorities say a man was walking in the crosswalk at Truman Road and Bennington Avenue around 11pm when he was struck by a vehicle. The vehicle left the crash scene and police are working to identify and track down the vehicle and the driver.

The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after. This marks the 4th traffic fatality of the year in Kansas City.
