KANSAS CITY – Want to try a wine that's supposed to pair well with a pizza pie? Too late.

A Lawrence, KS winery says it has sold out of its "tomato wine" due to high demand of a holiday promotion with chain restaurant Pizza Hut.

Irvine's Just Beyond Paradise Winery created the wine for Pizza Hut.
The tomato-based wine is described as “an aromatic blend of fresh herbs and spices with rich, sun-ripened tomato notes and a subtle hint of toasted oak."

Pizza Hut claims it tastes similar to a white wine when chilled.

The wine was being sold at $25 a bottle, but according to the vineyard, due to “exceptionally high demand,” the tomato wine is now sold out for this holiday season.
