Mayor Lucas says his hopes for the New Year include a continuing reduction in the murder rate

KANSAS CITY -  Mayor Quinton Lucas joined Kansas City’s Morning News today, as he talked about the death of former President Jimmy Carter, who passed away Sunday at the age of 100.

Lucas also talked about his hopes for the coming New Year, including a reduction in property and violent crime in Kansas City. In 2024, the number of murders fell by around 20%.
