Britney Spears was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Ventura County on Wednesday night.
California Highway Patrol officers placed Spears in handcuffs around 9:30 pm. Inmate records show Spears remained in custody for several hours before being released from Ventura County jail around 6 a.m.

Sources told TMZ she was alone when she was pulled over in Westlake Village.
Her manager released a statement, calling it an “unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable” and added that it's hopefully "the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life."
Spears is set to appear in court on May 4th.
