While most contestants sing, tell jokes, or do a magic trick, one Minnesotan has started to make a name for himself as a pizza acrobat on the NBC show "America's Got Talent."

Nick Diesslin, 29, a resident of Maplewood, ran into a funny situation when a TSA worker asked him why he was trying to get on a plane with a cooler full of frozen pizza dough.

It wasn't what it seemed as he told the TSA members that he would be tossing the dough in his audition for AGT.

"I kind of explained it's dough for pizza acrobatics, and they weren't fazed by it, which is kind of funny," Diesslin said to the Star Tribune.

After making his first appearance on the hit TV show on Jul. 20, Diesslin has become famous for spinning the raw pastry.

Diesslin has also appeared on television shows like "CBS Weekend News" on Jan. 31 and "The Tonight Show," where he threw some dough for an always laughing Jimmy Fallon on Dec. 8.

Diesslin works as a web developer during the daytime, but he has been putting his talent to use this summer, entering county fair amateur talent contests, showing his skills as many places as he can.

In the Anoka, Isanti, and Washington county fair contests, he took first place. He also took part in the Minnesota State Fair amateur talent contest, where he made the finals on the fair grandstand in 2018.

In his audition for AGT, Diesslin received a yes from all four celebrity judges moving on after the judges shared their excitement with his act.

"It was very surreal. I thought I was going to be really nervous," he said to the Tribune. "I felt like when I was up there to do the audition, there was this whole new confidence that I didn't have before."

While on TV, he moved on, he is still waiting to hear from the show on whether or not he will return for another performance.
