KANSAS CITY – Kansas City police say they have disrupted a violent street gang by arresting 33 people on outstanding warrants.

Jackson County Prosecutor Jean Peters Baker says the sweep focused on a gang called "256-356." The people who were arrested last week included 20-year-old Nathaniel Greer. Greer is accused of being one of the shooters outside a North Kansas City High School basketball playoff game last March.

Police also arrested two 19-year-olds who are accused of pointing guns at an undercover police detective, who was not hurt. They've been identified as Damien Carter and Sir'Michael Harbin.

Kansas City authorities say these nearly three=dozen arrests are expected to significantly impact and disrupt the gang’s activities.
