KANSAS CITY - Charges have been filed against a Missouri mom who allegedly left her four young kids home alone during tornado warnings with Friday's storms.
Crystal Ray of St. Ann is accused of endangering the welfare of children, creating substantial risk, and resisting arrest.
According to KAKE News, the charging documents say Ray left the kids, ages 8, 5, 3 and 8 months, while the tornado sirens were going off.
Police say the kids were left alone for several hours and during that time in their area, there were power outages and brush fires.
A concerned family member alerted police, who say when they found Ray, she appeared intoxicated and hit and kicked the responding officers.
