KANSAS CITY – A group known as the Satanic Grotto is planning to hold a Black Mass in Topeka, at the Kansas statehouse later this month.
The Grotto, based in Kansas, states it is not affiliated with any other satanic organization. From their mission statement: We are dedicated to improving our community through fellowship, religious expression, shared education, artistic projects and social activism.
Michael Stewart, the group's president, detailed the event on Midday with Jayme and Grayson. Stewart telling Jon that part of the event is “performing rites to the Black Mass and indulging in sacrilegious blaspheme".

The Kansas Catholic Conference says this is an explicit example of anti-Catholic bigotry, and legal and spiritual responses are being explored.
