Kansas City, MO – Another round of wintry weather has moved into Kansas City and the surrounding region. Forecasters expect 5" to 7" of snow to fall before the system moves on. A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until Friday morning.
Moderate to occasionally heavy snow is likely through Thursday morning with reduced visibility, strong north wind and roads becoming snow covered, says KMBC-9's Nick Bender.
Another wave of light to moderate snow will develop in the evening between 6pm and 9pm. The snow will continue into the night and end around midnight, says Bender.
As is typical with snow clearing plans, MoDOT says its snow plow drivers will work to clear major routes first, and will spend most of the morning hours on major routes. Then shift their attention to minor routes.
Even with the plowing and treatment of road surfaces, driving conditions are hazardous and roads remain slick.
