KANSAS CITY - A Kansas man has successfully had his trial for his role in the January 6th attack delayed.
William Pope of Topeka, who is representing himself, argued that the delay was warranted since Donald Trump has promised to pardon those who took part in the attack on the US Capitol. He also claimed he wouldn’t get a fair trial in DC because many people there voted for Vice President Kamala Harris.
After hearing Pope's arguments, the judge overseeing the case ordered a three-month delay in the proceedings.
According to the Kansas Reflector, a US Capitol police officer said that on January 6th, Pope got in the way on purpose, keeping them from being able to close doors and keep people out.
