KANSAS CITY — Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City has announced a major expansion project.

The $152-million expansion at Children's Mercy Hospital Kansas will take place in phases, with work already underway on the first phase, which will focus on surgical services and be ready next summer.

They’re also planning a new medical office building to consolidate outpatient services for 2027, along with new services like inpatient rehab and a neuroscience center.

The plan also includes various renovations inside and out, including new parking structures and new entrances, to be finished by 2029.

Children's Mercy says overall the expansion will enhance patient care and improve access.
