Chris Evans has played a number of tough guys, but there’s one role that scares him a whole lot.

Speaking with ET Canada in advance of his new Apple TV+ movie “Ghosted”, the actor said he’s deathly afraid of hosting “SNL”. His costar in the movie, Ana de Armas, will be hosting for the first time on April 15.

“Well now a cameo I can handle,” Evans said. “I’ve avoided hosting ‘SNL’ like the plague for years now just because I’m so scared. It’s terrifying to me.”

Evans had high praise for de Armas taking on the hosting duties.

“I tip my hat to her. She’s going to be amazing. But it would provide a lot of sleepless nights for me,” he said.

The “Captain America” actor said his fear stems from the worry of not being funny enough.

“Maybe I only feel that because I have very, very funny friends who once told me I’m not a funny person,” he said. “It would just be an everyday anxiety, constant regret: ‘Why did I do this? I could have been comfortable at my house, in my bed, not worrying about this.”

“Ghosted” arrives on Apple TV+ April 21.
