Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown has been ruled out for Monday Night Football against the Atlanta Falcons due to a hamstring injury. Brown, who recorded five receptions for 119 yards and a touchdown in Week 1, will be sorely missed, and his absence is already making waves in the player prop markets.
Here’s how Brown’s injury is impacting key prop bets for Eagles players on BetMGM:
Jalen Hurts: The Eagles’ quarterback is listed with a total of 229.5 passing yards. In Week 1, Hurts went 20-34 for 278 yards, with two touchdowns and two interceptions. With Brown out, Hurts will need to rely more on his other receivers, potentially affecting his yardage total.
Saquon Barkley: With Brown sidelined, the Eagles may lean more on their star running back. Barkley’s Anytime Touchdown odds are set at -190, with 2.5 receptions juiced to -155 on the over. His rushing yard total is 74.5, and his rushing attempts are set at 17.5. He also has a total of 97.5 rushing + receiving yards. In Week 1, Barkley carried the ball 24 times for 109 yards and two touchdowns, adding two catches for 23 yards and another score. Barkley should see plenty of work in both the rushing and passing game.
DeVonta Smith: Brown’s absence makes Smith the primary target for Hurts. His receiving yard total is set at 70.5, and his receptions total at 5.5. Smith had seven catches for 84 yards in Week 1, and with Brown out, he could see even more targets. Last week, the Falcons allowed Steelers wideout George Pickens to catch six passes for 85 yards, giving Smith a favorable outlook. However, he does see a tough matchup against star cornerback A.J. Terrell Jr.
Jahan Dotson: Dotson steps into Brown’s role and may be the sleeper play of the night. His receiving yard total is a modest 26.5 yards, and with Brown out, Dotson will likely see an increase in targets. Although he didn’t catch a pass in Week 1, Dotson is expected to be more involved in the offense, making his over prop an appealing bet. This situation is exactly why Philly gave up a third round pick to acquire him before the season began.
Dallas Goedert: The Eagles’ tight end has a total of 40.5 receiving yards and 4.5 receptions. Goedert caught four passes for 31 yards in Week 1, and the Falcons allowed tight end Pat Freiermuth to haul in four catches for 37 yards last week. Goedert could be a reliable target for Hurts in Brown’s absence, but there’s not much of an edge on his yardage or reception props.
With AJ Brown sidelined, bettors may want to focus on props for Jahan Dotson, who should step into a larger role, and Saquon Barkley, who is primed to see significant work in both the rushing and passing game. Barkley’s prop for over 2.5 receptions and over 17.5 receiving yards in a same-game parlay (+210) offers strong value, as he’s likely to be heavily involved in the passing attack once again.
