Much like the NFL and NBA, BetMGM is offering a second chance promotion on first goalscorer wagers. This one is really easy to take advantage of, and there is simply no reason to bet first goalscorer props anywhere else because of it. All you have to do is place a wager of any size on a player to score the first goal of the game, and if they fail to do so, you’ll get your cash back if they are the second goalscorer of the game.
For example, say you place a bet on Connor Bedard to score the first goal of an NHL game. If someone else scores first, normally you would lose your bet right then and there. However, with this promotion, if he manages to score the second goal of the game, you will get your money back on the bet. It is essentially a bit of a safety blanket for your wager.

NHL Hat Trick Jackpot
This one is also quite fun, and very profitable if you can actually hit it. We all know NHL hat tricks are very rare, and it can be very hard to predict when they will happen. However, this promotion gives you every reason to take a shot that someone will. When you opt-in to this one, your first anytime goalscorer bet afterwards will qualify for the jackpot. If that player manages to score a hat trick in the game, you will win your share of $10,000 with everyone else who bet the same way.
Obviously, you want to take players that you don’t think a lot of people will wager on so your payout is larger and you don’t have to share. For example, I bet on Connor Bedard to score a goal after opting in. If he manages to get a hat trick, I get paid out from that prize pool. Since it is Bedard, the payout might not be huge because a lot of people probably bet that same thing. Think strategically and outside of the box.
