The former All-Star enjoyed the best season of his career in 2021, slugging a career-best and team-leading 29 home runs, helping lead the Giants to a franchise record 107 wins.

The 33-year-old was hit by a pitch and suffered a fractured thumb on September 27, forcing him to miss the end of the regular season and the Giants’ playoff series against the Los Angeles Dodgers, which they lost in five games.

Belt - a 12-year Major League veteran - has spent his entire career in San Francisco after he was drafted by the team in the fifth round of the 2009 draft from the University of Texas.

He has been the Giants' primary first baseman since debuting in 2011, and played a major role in the team's World Series championships in 2012 and 2014.
