If you had Carl Crawford (yes, that Carl Crawford) beefing with Megan Thee Stallion on your 2022 bingo card, come collect your winnings.

Since retiring from MLB, the former Rays and Red Sox outfielder has turned his attention to the music industry, serving as owner and CEO of the Houston-based record label, 1501 Certified. Megan, who signed with the label in 2018, sued 1501 in February, asking to be let out of her contract.

Crawford filed a countersuit Monday, arguing Megan’s latest release Something for Thee Hotties—clocking in at just 29 minutes—wasn’t long enough to qualify as an “album.” Per TMZ, Crawford is also seeking a cut of all the money Megan has earned from endorsements, collaborations with other artists (including Cardi B and Beyonce) and any other “side engagements” she may have profited from.

Furious at the label for demanding new music, Megan defended herself in a scathing—and decidedly NSFW—Twitter thread Monday, calling out Crawford for expensing lavish jewelry to the company account while also accusing the ex-big-leaguer of having a drug problem.

Crawford was similarly vicious in his response, calling the three-time Grammy winner a “bona fide alcoholic” while vowing to sue her for defamation.

A four-time All-Star who earned $179.18 million over his 15 MLB seasons, Crawford appeared on this year’s Hall-of-Fame ballot but didn’t garner any votes.
