Either the fan in the video you're about to watch had a megaphone with him, or he was sitting right next to the broadcast booth. Rarely have I heard a fan project his/her voice so well that it was picked up by the TV broadcast with near-equivalent clarity as the announcing team. But in this case, given the subsequent entertainment value, we're glad that it happened.

The fan in question was in attendance at the Mariners-Blue Jays game at Sahlen Field in Buffalo, New York, and it's safe to assume that said fan was not rooting for the home team in this situation. Whether it was a Yankees fan, or a Mariners fan, or some diehard anti-Astros baseball fan, his thoughts on Blue Jays outfielder George Springer were loud and clear — literally — on Tuesday night.

Springer, of course, was a key contributor to the Astros' winning ways of the late 2010s, winning the 2017 World Series MVP and picking up All-Star recognition in three straight seasons from 2017 to 2019. After a strong 2020 campaign in the shortened season (.899 OPS, 13th in MVP vote), he has gotten off to a rough start in his Toronto debut. Injuries held him out of play to begin the season, and he's slashing .194/.326/.444 in the 10 games he's played.

While much of the heckling we've seen from fans this season has come when the Astros come to opposing ballparks — we've seen that happen quite a few times — it's not as common to see a home crowd heckle a player when the Houston Astros are nowhere in sight. We have, however, seen another instance in which a former Astro was heckled on his new, non-Houston team.
