Freddie Freeman's son, Charlie, was really, really looking forward to one thing ahead of MLB's All-Star Week. He was obviously excited for all of the festivities — who wouldn't be? — but was also super excited to meet his favorite ballplayer. Wait... his favorite ballplayer isn't Freddie Freeman?

Maybe it's his favorite non-Freddie Freeman player, or maybe Dad is truly number two on the list, but whatever the case, little Charlie's wish came true.

The quest to find the apparently elusive Tatis Jr. didn't start and end in that dugout, however. As Freddie's wife, Chelsea, showed on social media, Charlie had begun his pursuit of meeting his hero well before everyone was at Coors Field, watching home runs soar and getting the festivities underway.

Now the journey to meet Tatis Jr. is over, though there's still the opportunity for more interactions when the Padres star shortstop and Freddie Freeman take the field together in the All-Star Game on Tuesday night. MLB.com's Mark Bowman told us a couple of weeks before the event that we should be expecting Charlie Freeman to excitedly attend the All-Star Week program in the hopes of meeting Tatis Jr., so it's great to know that he was able to make that dream become a reality.

After Monday night's Home Run Derby, however, we wouldn't be all that surprised to find out that Freeman had a new idol: repeat champion and 74-HR slugger Pete Alonso.
